Living in or visiting Gulf Shores offers a laid back atmosphere, beautiful beaches, and awesome food. One of the great benefits of owning a restaurant in any of the Gulf Coast towns is having the freshest seafood available which, in turn, transfers over to the many thousands of satisfied customers every single day. There are many great Gulf Shores restaurants, but I wanted to give my Top 10 list based on research that I've done by reading reviews and on my own personal experience. As a former restaurant owner myself (in a different state), I tend to be a little more picky than the average diner, but here is my pick for the best.
Top 10 Restaurants in Gulf Shores in No Particular Order
Bahama Bob's Beach Side Cafe
Bahama Bob's is a small restaurant located beach side in the West Beach section of Gulf Shores that offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu primarily offers seafood options, and many feel that this little place on the beach offers the best food at the beach. Be sure to get their early during the peak season.
Kitty's Cafe
Kitty's Cafe is ranked high on all of the food and travel review sites and is located in The Pelican Place shopping center next to Target. Kitty's serves breakfast and brunch style foods, offering hearty "home cooked" meals with a big splash of Southern hospitality.
Sassy Bass Amazin' Grill
Sassy Bass is not known to many who visit our beach, because it's located on the west end of Fort Morgan, away from the hustle and bustle of the major happenings of Gulf Shores. However, this is one of my favorite places in town. Very laid back and fun, Sassy Bass offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner with "chef-like" quality.
Flip Flop Deli Shop
This a favorite little spot among locals and tourists alike. Located in West Beach of Gulf Shores, the Flip Flop Deli Shop is known for their great sandwiches, ice cream, and friendly atmosphere.
The Diner
Located off of 2nd Street in Gulf Shores, The Diner is well respected among visitors giving them high marks in their food reviews. I've yet to eat here but, after researching them, I'm planning a visit soon. The Diner offers fresh seafood, hand cut steaks, and comfort food.
The Beach House Kitchen & Cocktails
The Beach House has become a popular place for everyone offering the freshest seafood from the Gulf of Mexico, good quality American cuisine, and carefully crafted cocktails.
Acme Oyster House
Acme has been around for over 100 years and serves some of the freshest seafood and oysters in Gulf Shores. With its quaint and casual atmosphere along the Intracoastal Waterway, diners are able to enjoy Cajun-Creole style dishes. Acme is very popular among both locals and visitors to the area.
Fish River Grill #3
Its motto is "A Funky Junky Redneck Joint." Serving awesome seafood dishes and burgers and claims to be Baldwin County's original seafood restaurant, Fish River #3 is located in the shopping center with Rouse's supermarket.
Flying Harpoon
Flying Harpoon is a local favorite that's a bayou front hang out featuring New Orleans style Po'boys and other casual eats.
Lulu's
Lulu's is a colorful and lively restaurant that sits on the Intracoastal Waterway at the bridge in Gulf Shores. Lulu's is a large eatery that serves about 4,000 people a day during the peak summer months. One of the biggest things that impresses me is how they can produce good quality food for so many people on a consistent basis. As for the food, their menu is vast with mainly seafood dishes, but they also offer great cheeseburgers and salads. I particularly like their Blackened Mahi Mahi Tacos.
